The Cloisters

Baltimore wedding photographer, Positive Images by Rettberg features today one of the most unique venues in the Baltimore/Washington metro areas.

The Cloisters, or " The Castle" as it is frequently called is a beautiful structure located high on a hill with over 60 acres of preserved woodlands on Falls Road in Lutherville, just north of the Falls Road overpass over the Baltimore Beltway.

When one approaches the castle, you can't help but feeling that you are stepping back in time to a gentler age. Classic stone architecture, exquisite stained glass windows, an amazing spiral staircase, iconic courtyard, and ornate wrought iron railings throughout.

Annie Applegarth[pictured with her hand on "Millie" oversees a superb staff that includes Jennifer D'Uso, event staff; Melissa Day, Senior Event Staff Supervisor; and Castlelen Kimi Baldgeas.

These ladies assure clients, whether they be marrying couples, business party's, themed events,Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, holiday party's etc. that the excellence and attention to detail that have made the Cloisters one of the hottest places in town will extend to them and all of their individual tastes. Cloisters provides a list of some of the regions best caterers, who are sanctioned to service the venue.

The Cloisters averages 250 affairs a year, so careful planning is needed in selecting a date for that special event..

Besides hosting all of the private affairs, Cloisters has been featured in several movies and television shows. It's premier wedding was that of actor Will Smith in 1998.

Positive Images by Rettberg has worked at The Cloisters on numerous occasions over the years and considers it one of the most visually powerful venues anywhere, as a backdrop for that once in a lifetime event. To this day, we have not exhausted the photographic backdrops that "the Castle" has to offer.
